I already have this feature turned on after some guy in Russia got in to my account and was playing Fifa and doing bad things I was getting warnings for, sigh, so any way I've had this for a while. Its not a single time generated password that you can lose, every time the system wants to verify my logins (most of the time I don't get asked but every so often it wants to check I am who I say I am), I get the option of it sending me a one time use numerical code to either my mobile or email address, I get an instant message with my code, and input that and its done, its not like another password you have to keep track of, its literally sent to you there and then. And in any case, when the Russian got in to my account it was easy to reassert my control using the EA live chat, they were very helpful and I haven't had an issue since.
