I can only go into this with a raised eyebrow and a critical eye.
EA executives seem fixated on social, mobile, online, and loot-box micro transactions.
When they start talking new experiences, all I can do is fold my arms and wait for it.
We have game packs, but not a loot-box system. I was glad for all the controversy around loot boxes and Star Wars Battlefront 2. It just might keep that from happening with The Sims, but you never know.
It all has a keeping up with the Jones, create a level of dissatisfaction to entice you to spend money to cure it, and to coerce you into participating because an online community is only good if there are other people to interact with.
I hope it's a new pack announcement, or a new platform (which I will ignore because I am only interested in games for my PC, including VR). Or a new creation tool!
