The reason I came back to play the Sims games as I thought it was an Offline game. I had bought a lot of packs before I found out differently and then still later I found Origin was more important to the Sims then I first thought.
Origin belongs to EA I think they created it, so do the Sims so its nothing to be afraid of.
Origin was created by EA who intended Origin as a competitor to Steam.
Its a lot of Reason we would need Origin
I believe its also a question of not sharing our Sims games. I am not sure of this but I have always thought Origin can tell if we have been sharing our games. Example: if you let a friend in Hawaii log on and play your Sims game, then like 20 mins later your playing in New York. I think Origin would be alerted. I mean its just what I think. I am not sure.
EA has always allowed members of the same family to play the same copy of a game at the same time. This is usually done by letting a parent buy a game and then let her/his children use the same account to play the game too. Only this parent can play online though or use the forum. But other family members can play offline and they don’t need to be at home when they play. This is how I still understand EA’s rules.
Also even if you do manage to play your Sims on a different platform. whenever you do use the internet they would know where the game has been played.
You would have to keep Origin on your computer to play Sims 4 games. I know because I uninstalled and had to reinstall to play haha.
Yes, this is true for the PC version of TS4. But I don’t think that it works in the same way for the versions for consoles.
