Just thought I'd share this in case it hadn't already been shared here (I did a quick cursory search in this thread for it and didn't see it, but I could've missed it).
SimGuru Graham has confirmed that the next "thing" coming to TS4 will be playable at EA Play, so we know that we will receive news of something before then.
My first theory is an EP (probably Seasons as it has historically been a good seller that wouldn't need the holiday season to sell well), which I speculate would be announced around the week of May 7, with a release date the week after EA Play. To me, it makes sense not to have a quarterly teaser if only an EP is coming this quarter, as the marketing team would want to announce it when the marketing campaign is ready, and not weeks before they were ready to talk about it, otherwise there would be unrest like there was with Get Together's too-long marketing campaign.
My second theory is a big, game-changing patch like toddlers. It could be semi-open world (removing loading screens between houses in the same "neighbourhood"), or cars, both of which have been a huge fan requests so far. It also makes sense to me that they would want to keep quiet about a big patch like that until they're ready to release it, but if this is the case we probably won't hear anything until it releases (which would be just before EA Play if they're going to show it off there).
To add to this, Graham is also repeatedly telling fans who are asking for news about the next release for TS4 to look to The Sims official Twitter for announcements.

Now, obviously, this could just be his "default" response because he's not allowed to talk about new packs until they're announced, and the official Twitter page is usually the first place a new pack is announced.
But could it also be that he is expecting the official page to give the community an announcement, which is why he's reminding the fans to check the page more (or it may just be that fans are asking more than usual because we don't have info at the moment, which is quite likely)?
Maybe a bit of Column A, bit of Column B? We'll see.
