Red dead at the moment is a single player but multiplayer will be available soon. That said it will not change the single player content the same way Far Cry 5 is a complete single player game with option to play online. There’s no forcing and I don’t need an internet connection to play either in the single player campaign. I know a lot of people myself included that will not touch Fallout 76 because it’s online only.
Sim city bombed when EA forced it as an online only game. And if that’s their future The sims will not survive long either because people don’t want it or and because many Simmers will not have the hardware specifications. The future of gaming goes way beyond EA’s backyard. Players deserve choice not a “Our way or the highway” As I said my Husband works as a game dev, I’ll take his knowledge of ten years + making two of the biggest selling games ever and insight over a company that seems to be telling players what they want as opposed to listening to what they want.
