- As for 2021 I'm keeping my expectations neutral. If they've listened to the demands from the loud part of the community the packs will be things like farming and generations which I have zero interest in and will not buy, so it'll be a very boring year for me if that's the case.
My hopes for next year are for more occults, preferably fairies, and more international inspired worlds. I'm holding out hope for a Spanish themed world. - netney525 years agoSeasoned AceThey say this every year. They said it last year about this year and I don’t think this year has been all that great and seems to have been a big year for the wrong reasons.
- Of course they would say this. They aren't going to come out and say that the game is ending, or that there's not much planned or even that the packs may not be whatever wants but they feel good about it, or even that it continue on as strong as 2020 (that last is with some sarcasm).
Hype and promotion is just that. - MidnightAura865 years agoSeasoned AceThis is marketing speak nothing more.
This is a company that never acknowledges its mistakes. It’s had arguably one of the worst years for the sims ever and they know people are unhappy, all this talk of being the best year ever is just in vain to hope fans stick around and continue opening their wallets. - Looking forward! Unpopular opinion here: 2020 wasn't the best year for sims 4 but imo it was good. Eco Lifestyle was a mess when it went out but currently it's working fine in my rotation play and it brought so many features i use daily... the knitting pack is imo the best stuff pack in the game and now snowy escape looks so great! Of course it had stuff i personally don't care about, as tiny living and star wars, but 3 good packs in a year is good enough for me.
So i'm expecting some nice new additions in 2021 :) - paigeisin55 years agoSeasoned AceWe're probably going to see some of what was in those surveys in 2021 because the teams were working on those ideas before COVID-19 decided to hit us. In spite of the challenges they did manage to release some decent packs this year, but those were in development months, or up to a year before COVID. The base game updates this year have been pretty good. And that is where we are seeing a lot of the things that were asked for in those surveys. So I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see as many packs in 2021 as we have seen in past years. I expect monthly updates for the base game, one gp, two sp's and maybe one ep in June. But that's okay. In their spare time the teams might even manage to give us a few more fixes. And that would make the game just as enjoyable as getting a new pack.
- Sigzy_295 years agoLegendAnd I bet it will! Except....they don't mean it the way you think, and this title is missleading. When EA says 2021 will be a "big year for TS4" they mean it, money wise.
That whole talk/article whatever the fuck, that's for the investors, not for the costumers. EA doesn't give 2 shits about what content Maxis produces, they just look at their finances and go "this year was big!", "next will be as or even bigger!". This really highlights some of the problems with this franchise and why people complain but somehow TS4 never gets much done. People buy the packs even when they don't like them, and on top of that, with how little money EA seems to pour onto the dlc's, and how outrageously priced they are, obviously they are going to have very big profits. This is just deceiving marketing to let their investors know they can trust and patron EA even more. - I really wish that they stopped making another culture themed pack again in 2021, im people of color myself but i couldnt careless whether my ethnicity or culture is being represented in the game. i want maxis in 2021 to developed pack like they used to in previous extended and sustainable gameplay being their primary focus while keeping inclusivity the secondary (if they still want to do it)

{andCAWandforcryingoutloudceilingtiles} - DevSims915 years agoNew SpectatorThey say that every year but do they deliver, sometimes I get a pack I enjoy... But the last thing that really changed game play for me was get together... I thought Eco Lifestyle would add a lot but I turned off the feature that made the game have green or industrial lot’s because getting the lots to be green and keeping them there was beginning to stress me out... I stress out over this game enough so I turned it off but bills are still weird and NAPs are still stressful.
EA briefly had a bug on Origin where it said you couldn’t play other packs unless you have the Star Wars one... As someone who wants the new Expansion pack I just gave in and bought the pack... It was on sale and I had ten bucks on a gift card but a few days later we found out that we didn’t need the Star Wars pack to play other games... I was mad at myself and I’m still mad at EA for that. I believe they did that on purpose.
So right now I expect we might get a few packs (hopefully one we like) but still have no bugs fixes. (Or shorter teens)
