As for 2021 I'm keeping my expectations neutral. If they've listened to the demands from the loud part of the community the packs will be things like farming and generations which I have zero interest in and will not buy, so it'll be a very boring year for me if that's the case.
My hopes for next year are for more occults, preferably fairies, and more international inspired worlds. I'm holding out hope for a Spanish themed world.
If we got a farming pack, they could promote PlantSims to full occult status, giving them special powers over gardening and the ability to create them in CAS."Simmingal;c-17716992" wrote:

LOL I want to know what they mean by “another” strong year. This year was the worse ever LOL. I have only bought knitting all year and I sort of regret that. Most likely I will get snowy escape and eco when 50 off but wow so far I have spent 10 bucks all year. That is a sign of a lackluster year for me.
oh a mood.
though I really enjoy knitting pack cause my personal love for the hobby and fact your sims can do it anywhere
I must say having so many niches like tiny living star wars and eco lifestyle which all didn't really appeal to me as themes was quite tiresome this year (even if each of them has object or 2 id have use for)
snowy is somewhat better because i love the japan theme but again i feel it lacks some very important details for the japan part of pack that would make it just so much better and more immersive for me and i feel they missed out on lot of potential by mixing the themes and taking too big a bite
I can just hope that 2021 will finally be year for better gameplay and more complete themes but i do have my doubts given the track record
also i really wish that they update outdoor retreat into actual game pack after asking all those survey things cause its falling below stuff packs in content now
I'm enjoying Nifty Knitting mainly for Plopsy (especially my artist Sim selling her paintings) and for the cute items you can add to CAS. I've been preparing my household for SE by having a Sim learn the knitting skill and make all the socks, since Sims can show them off with the "no shoes" feature in the upcoming pack. Next she'll start on sweaters."Nikkih;c-17717576" wrote:
I knew it wouldn't end in 2021 ? (I'm happy about that) the base game is still too lacking and they need too fix the game breaking bugs first, but I'm hoping that next year we have something for supernatural players and family players and maybe something completely new, I wrote I little list what I would like the sims 4 too have before it ends
. NPC burglars, police and social services
. Update babies and teens
. Adults give them midlife crisis 5 days before becoming an elder and elders an optional walking stick
. Cars/ other transport options
. Story progression for unplayed sims
.more personally enhancements ie more traits, maybe add 3 things your sims loves and hates, maybe add in another trait slot
Packs that I would love too come too the sims 4
Romantic and weddings we need slow dancing definitely
Hobbies game pack
Happy haunts
Theme park/ carnival
Farming
Items we need bunk beds and strollers
And last of all sort that sharing is caring too only happen too residential lots, then I will be happy with the sims 4 ending ?
And boats more then one sim can use. Two can use the sled together.- I had just bought part of someone's wine collection at auction last Saturday. And the first thing I thought of after having gotten the wine home was the nectar making from S3's World Adventures. Then I had started thinking how cool and fun it would be to have nectar making back in the game. One of the things that made me smile about Sims 3 was watching my sim slip and fall on their butts while trying to mash the grapes during the nectar making process.
- meeshwood5 years agoSeasoned AceI genuinely believe the sims team cares about creating the content that the community wants. The community is huge which means not every pack is going to be a hit for everyone. They send out surveys to see what the community wants. They seem genuinely excited during live streams etc. I think those of you saying they only mean a big year from a profit standpoint are wrong.
The further we get with the sims 4 the harder it will be to please everyone because many of the more popular things like seasons, pets, university have alreasy been done. When sims 5 launches we will likely not have those things and the cycle will start again so I personally hope the sims 4 sticks around for a while. Is it perfect? No def not. The set dressing worlds and lack of depth in the personality of sims is a complaint for me. I think next year we will see an increase in diversity and content based around the surveys sent out this year. I think something similar to generations is coming. Either way I hope whatever comes brings that old school excitment that seems to be around snowy escape. - meeshwood5 years agoSeasoned AceAlot of the content we have gotten has come from content surveys, not necessarily polls. I dont care about farms or cars. I know a lot of people discuss them but it is also very possible that people like me who take the surveys pick other things. Purely speculation on my part.
- They said the same for 2020.. Worst year so far :D

ahhh the positivity of the naive :) i am sure the dev team cares but you clearly underestimate EA's greed, more specific, the EA CEO s greed. because in the end they call the shots and well, they probabely struck a deal with Disney to promote their failing Star Wars franchise and boom: a pack nobody cares about ;) and do you really agree this year was good?? because i myself harshly have to disagree. nothing but very lackluster content this year imo i didn't bother buying any of the pack they released this year apart from university simply because they all just didn't appeal to me at all, and in general sims 4 packs are way too expensive for what they add to the game
I do prefer having an optimistic outlook... My screen name for this forum is literally my name, clearly I have been playing the sims for a while. Star Wars is a huge franchise, definitely not failing. You may be too young to see that, I'm not insulting you, young is not an insult. Many people, especially older people with money, love Star Wars. I was hyped to have it in my game. I would much rather have than then fairies or zombies. That is part of the point I was trying to make. The sims community is huge and not every thing they create is going to appeal to everyone. EA is a business which means they exist to make money. That is a given. They cannot continue to make games if they don't make money. In order to make money they need to create content that people will buy. If 70% of the community is likely to buy a world travel pack but only 50% is willing to buy a farming pack... which one do you think they are going to make ?. From that standpoint I think Star Wars was a flop for EA, which cost them revenue. A big year hopefully means lots of stuff for me the consumer to buy. Things that will make me happy to purchase. That is the relationship between the business and the consumer... Also, remember expansion packs typically go on sale for half off about 6 months after they come out. If you don't think it is worth $40 wait and buy it for $20. I paid $30 for Eco and I regret nothing. It was worth $30 for me, but not $40. - meeshwood5 years agoSeasoned AceOh if you want to have a conversation about star wars I'm your girl...
I don't blame Disney for what went wrong with star wars. Yelp I said it. Obviously nothing will ever touch the original trilogy. Rogue one was amazing but that is because it had the nostalgia of the original. We all hated the prequels when they came out but they have aged well. You can't deny those lightsaber battles. As far as these final three... the first one was good! Yeah it went downhill from there but it is kind of like Metallica. They got so good they couldn't keep up with their own greatness...
That being said I will definitely throw my money at Disney the first chance I get post covid to check out the new theme park area. Maybe my expectations are low but I'm happier that way. I would rather find joy. Also yes business 101 seems to make sense here... you really want to farm and play with zombies? Really? What content would earn your business?
Bonus, paralives is coming soon which will give EA some competition. They've never really had any. - Hopefully stuff that enhances the current gameplay instead of more worlds with a collection of new activities to do with them.
More systems that add some depth to the game and individuality to sims. Additions or overhauls to the trait and moodlet systems that affect autonomous sims behaviour would be good. Sentiments and lifestyles may be an improvement, but the game needs a lot more to give it more depth, in my opinion.
Sims not cancelling actions and socials all the time would also be a big improvement, but I'm not sure how easy that would be to do when it isn't sorted at this point.
