I agree. We need more playable Occults, not just temporary buff states. Look at how much people love Vampires, yet it seems like Supernatural players keep drawing the short straw. It's great that we got things like StrangerVille, but all Occult gameplay isn't equal, and honestly, I still haven't even finished the story because what I really want is some more interesting Sims to create, like Spellcasters, Werebeasts, Fae and Elves, Mythical Creatures, more monsters, and a Ghost overhaul so that they are more than just transparent Sims.
Although I like getting new ideas and new twists on old content, I feel like all of the "new" keeps getting priority over things that players really, really want. It's hard not to get discouraged from playing when the game is approaching it's fifth year and all Occult players can create in CAS are Aliens and Vampires.
Add to this that there is still no trace of actual Fear anywhere in the game, which is just bizarre and contributes to a redundancy of dull, incomplete Sim personalities that are too easily and automatically content and cheerful and flawless.
I really want to enjoy the game, but I'm so tired of the Mary Sue, bad fanfic Sims. Every pack would mean more and have more value if these Sims felt more complete, and if there were more Life State choices to play.
I hope some good things are coming for us this year because I keep seeing people make threads asking how to make the game interesting, and this should definitely not be happening when the game is over four and a half years old.
They fell short on the occult sims. I'm not saying I want John Constantine, Doctor Strange, The hot hunters Dean and Sam Winchester from Supernatural the cute Holloway sisters in Charmed etc but witches, warlocks (a witch is any gender a warlock is an evil traitor), demons, jinn, elves, werewolves zombies etc without the use of mods and without breaking the game. I want more from the aliens. They gave us aliens with "Get To work" but no homeworld to live on or build up or alien wardrobe or alien build/buy items."drakharis;c-17082899" wrote:

I also want more alien stuff- I really hope they IMPROVE the current life state, PlantSims! They already have the ground work, but almost none of the features PlantSims used to have are in Sims 4. They were fun in previous games and could be expanded with new features
Along with plant leaves CAS outfits

They should be able to dig themselves into the ground and photosythesize quicker, like as if they‘re sleeping.
And they should be able to reproduce by spawning a baby plant that turns into a PlantSim toddler when cared for. "NorthDakotaGamer;c-17084520" wrote:

There have been tweets that stated they will not be revisiting/redoing plantsims. So unfortunately, I think we are left with what was given. It is too bad for those that enjoyed previous iterations. I just hope they do not tie in a certain build/CAS theme into the pack which can not really be accessed without getting the life state.
But why tho? They already have the groundwork for PlantSims and only need to expand on it a bit. They could easily squish PlantSims into an Expansion as a side feature and it wouldn‘t take up much development time since they‘re already made.
At least give us leafy skin, hair and clothes.- Me at this point waiting for an abundance of occult states:

But really how sad is it that they could not even give you guys real Plant Sims in CAS to go with Strangerville would have been the perfect chance.

Strangerville is supernatural, sure, but we want permanent life states that aren't natural. A fight with a 'mother' plant isn't what we want, nor is possession of Sims that can be easily cured. That's like saying 'you got online uni, thats your university pack!' or, 'you can have sand surround your pools, thats your island pack!'. It's not the same, at all. it's offering a crumb when we want meat to our game. If realism players were as forgotten as we are, there would be riots in the streets.- Fluteline24New Spectator

They are not. No one asked for something like Stranger ville. No. One. We want fully fleshed out, permanent life states. We don't want Little Shop Of Horrors: The Sims. - I personally loved Strangerville, and I did incorporate PlantSims into my storytelling with it, but it was not the equivalent of a Supernatural pack. At least, no more than Get Together is the equivalent of a University expansion.
Aliens and Vampires are still the only two permanent life states in the game, and the latter came out two and a half years ago.
I can understand why supernatural players are frustrated. - Horrorgirl6Seasoned Veteran

I'm like why not both.
