A sim can bring in a tidy living currently with a garden selling harvestable so it should carry over to Cottage Living.
Unfortunately there maybe a bug still present that may turn the crop back into a dirt pile that can tank that income. So selling the eggs, milk products, canned goods, and cross stitching on Plopsy will probably be a good alternative if that happens.
