I always go into the gallery from my game instead of the website when I want to use/check it. I like the setup better there because the first thing I get is the newest uploads of all kinds and I can filter from there (such as it is). We do need more filters and the packs used labels don't always work for me. I went to the gallery from the website and was immediately reminded why I avoid it. I don't like how the filters are set and if you don't have experience with the filters you only get Maxis curated stuff that was the most popular. It would be nice if items/sim featured were rotated with a variety of themes like the latest content, popularity both recently trending and all time as well as creative/unusual/quirky/seasonal things.
I realllly wish that they would update the tray to make it easier to see whats in it while not in game and make it easier to move/save items elsewhere for safekeeping. It might help with some of the congestion from people using the gallery for storage. It isn't just the people storing their stuff that clogs the gallery, there are also creators constantly re-uploading to get more down loads as well as contest and challenge Sims, lots and rooms. It would be nice if there was an (easily seen!) filter just for contests/challenges and have all related items go to that separate section to make them easier to find and take part in contests/challenges instead of a creator having to constantly re-upload to find participants. Challenges and contests would be something else good to feature as well.
Yes, I like using the in game Gallery best. I did check the Web Gallery this evening, only checking just a week's lots uploads and found there is no easy filter there. I find it difficult to understand that some have over 1000's of downloads already. They must be good at advertising!! I trawled through dozens of lots and some of the best are in the low hundreds and below. I don't feel like taking a lot of time getting to them. I suppose the best way of keeping one's lots etc. absolutely safe is to keep a usb stick for them but I don't feel like spending more on playing this game.
