Eavesdrop at doors?

You need to have the unit/lot you are eavesdropping on loaded. So if you are trying to eavesdrop on a neighbouring Residential Rental unit, you have to travel to it first. Same with snooping mailboxes etc. You need to load the target lot first.

@ValravnWitch yes, I clicked on the door and had the option to eavesdrop. Actually, if I remember right that was the only option; didn't even have the normal option to knock on the door.

Yes, my sim was able to and found out about her tenant's grilled cheese secret. She's sitting on that information...for now.
