Given that it mentioned both finding furniture in the dumpster and recycling an old couch after buying a new one, is it possible that we could be getting the ability to put all objects in our Sims' inventory? Otherwise, how would you get the old TV home or get the old couch to the recycler?
I was also thinking about it... and may we be able to sell the furniture in a yard sale? It'ld be awesome if it were in the personal inventory.
