- GalacticGalSeasoned AceI grew up in sunny Southern California, and even though the mountains were only about an hour's drive away, it's not like we spent much time in the snow. I never went skiing, only got to ride on a toboggan once and now after my brain surgery these things are restricted. I love watching my Sims do the things that look like so much fun, but are in their own way a tad dangerous. Certainly, for me. That's why I purchased Snowy Escape and I refused to purchase Eco Living, because the very fact they advertised it as 'change the way you play the game' made it repulsive to me. Now, I'm all for being a responsible steward of this planet, I just don't want to be a slave to it. I don't wish to be led around by the nose, so to speak, and play this game the way someone else wishes me to play. What would be the point? I play this game to relax and shut-out the world. Why on Earth would I want smog in my neighborhoods? I've already moved out of Southern CA. :open_mouth:
- wildirishbansheeRising NoviceEco Living added more game play, and I use it the most. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in Snowy Escape. Some of it is really awesome, and then the rest is more like an after thought. Since I control the NAPs and all that, I have zero issues with Eco - and I can play with all the fun stuff.
- Joanne_SnowRising TravelerImho EL has a *lot* more and overall more impactful stuff to do than SE. Sure the NAPs are somewhat disappointing but once turned off, I like the eco footprint, grimey states, community spaces you can put in every world, the careers, all the new crafting hobbies it adds, the new meat wall etc. SE adds primarily snow, snowboarding and wall climbing, and a career that is a bit strange. But there’s no real lasting effects on gameplay and while looking amazing, it hasn’t immersed me nearly as much as EL could. So between the 2, hands down EL. By a wide margin.

oh I was wondering! if you add community space do you still have to enter the lot separately or can the sims use the items without entering the specific lot?
and is it different in other worlds than say the one that came with eco lifestyle?
cause I'm quite confused about that
also for hobbies i think i was mostly irritated by how it had so many machines for the activities so I'm bit on fence how to feel about the pack activities
though i absolutely loved to see the candle making and meat wall and i could definitely use some smog in some worlds
I'm just bit unsure about rest of it fitting in my olde timey save
b/b is really useful though so I will most likely get it eventually regardless
Trash only spawns in Evergreen Harbor for one. Not sure about industrial so much, cause I haven't even tried...most of mine are just naturally neutral or neutral heading towards green. Basically, normal worlds lol. The fabricator and candle maker work on the same skill, the juice maker is a different skill. I love the candle maker - I mostly just use the fabricator for a few things so far. The recycler is a great way to get rid of clutter! It takes just about everything lol. I haven't really touched community spaces yet - I think I only have one in one world...and I'm not even sure it's active? EL does add some interesting upgrades to things, that's for sure lol. - HopeyStarrRising Traveler

after playing Snowy Escape for couple of days some thoughts:
1.the new mascot
I love its just yamachan not some other randomly named sim in yamachan costume like with university ones
Something must have went wrong in my game because after the snow festival Yamachan appeared at the bar like this and wouldn't change back to the costume.

Then another "Yamachan" turned up as the bartender. Of course without the costume. I promptly deleted them both and thankfully haven't had issues with these fake Yamachans as of late. I think I know what mod caused the issue.
I tried to play it off as Yamachan being some random sim that wanted to spread joy in the region and thus donned the costume but the game would not let me edit the random spawn in CAS.
I would much rather Yamachan never take off their costume again. "HopeyStarr;c-17758351" wrote:

in my version, Yamachan is Rey from the Batuu pack! hah. I have no idea what's causing Rey to wander, but she also showed at the bar for me, as well."keekee53;c-17756497" wrote:
NAP = nightmare
Nightmare Action Plans - I got both.
Eco was never "my theme" to begin with, that said I do not dislike it, it has some cool content, but I wouldn't want to go without Snowy Escape anymore. I have been wanting a permanently snowy world for SO long, I just love that and have also gotten addicted to making my Sims take hikes
And I just love it for a vacation destination. - I wasn't excited about either pack, to be honest, but Eco Lifestyle interested me more and for the sole fact it had the voting system. I really thought it had potential, but that whole pack introduced nothing but awful bugs and glitches for me, and the votes are just plain annoying. (Who thought it would be a good idea to have a voting feature where Sims come to your lot and take everything?) The pack ended up being a bigger letdown than I had expected it to be. I don't even find the world to be that appealing and only use it for the apartments it came with.
Ironically enough, Snowy Escape didn't have my interest at all and I was completely against buying it, but I've now actually come to really enjoy it and the stuff it came with. The world is really beautiful and detailed and is probably in my top favorite places for my Sims to live now. I do believe it has its downs and some things are lacking. I also do agree with a lot of people who say its themes are recycled or too similar to certain themes and features in previous packs, but overall it hasn't really let me down.
Luckily for me, my girlfriend and I share the game and because she wanted both of these packs really bad, I got to experience them too. One didn't work out, sure, but the other definitely did and I probably wouldn't have discovered a new beautiful world otherwise. "DevilNDisguise;c-17760813" wrote:

haha yeah personally i was in denial about my need of gps (well aside from vampires which was always my fave and still is)
until very recently (like early this year) when they started putting them 50% off and i figured i might as well have 4 gps for price of one ep and now im just like bro what version of game i was even playing until now this is lit?
sometimes the theme you thought wasn't so cool at first actually turns out to be quite lovely
but it might need some extra push to make you buy it
(still dont believe im ever gonna get big enough push to go buying batuu though but we will see  )
