Snowy Escape Recipes

Maybe they just added them into Cooking skill instead of unlockables, because there's a lot of new recipes there.

No I am noticing this too and I’m wondering if it’s a glitch. Some of the vendor foods are not the same as the ones sims can make at home. There are more sushi items sold by the vendors that seem like sims should be able to learn them just like in City Living after they eat them, but nothing is happening. My sims have high cooking skill and I don’t think it should take them this long to know how to make sushi when they can make Onigiri at level one.

There is a post on Answers HQ about some of the SE recipes. Apparently, your sin needs gourmet cooking skill to make the Maki roll (all variants) & Nigiri (all variants).

My sim has maxed out both cooking skills and the baking skill. And still I get nothing that tells me that my sim has learned a recipe from Snowy Escape, even after having tried them at the stalls and vending machine. And yet all the recipes are in the list of recipes that my sim can cook at home. Including the ones that my sim hasn't ordered from these places and machines. Now either this is a glitch of some kind or they have been unlocked prior to the launch of Snowy Escape.

I was never able to find a clear answer regarding whether the SE recipes had to be learned or if they're just automatically unlocked when your Sim reaches a certain skill level. None of the reviews that I checked addressed the food items in the pack with any specificity. From your post, it sounds like they're automatically unlocked which is disappointing.

It is disappointing because I was so looking forward to unlocking those recipes my self in the game. Back when I first learned that we getting new recipes in SE. And I thought for certain that I heard a Maxis team member say that these recipes had to be unlocked before our sims can make them at home. But to my surprise, I have found them on the list of dishes that my sim can cook at home already. Hopefully a member of the team reads this and will chime in with the answer.

I think they were added automatically with the pack. I certainly have not seen anything in game or stated otherwise. What I remember from the livestream was that they added more recipes, not that we had to unlock the CL style.

I haven't seen anything in the game either. Maybe they were never meant to be unlocked. But I do remember them saying something about adding more recipes to SE. When you get to be my age, the things in your memory tend to become fragmented. And when you try to remember the whole thing. Memories tend to get mixed up. So maybe they didn't say anything about these recipes needing to be unlocked. That's why I'm hoping a team member will chime in and clear things up for us.

I'm really surprised they didn't put hot chocolate in. That was a missed opportunity.

Do they even sever hot chocolate in Japan? SE has a Japanese inspired theme to it. So they had to stay with what ever is severed in Japan.
Apparently they do have hot chocolate in Japan. I was just looking how to say hot chocolate in Japanese. It's hotto chokoreeto in Japanese.
