Empty Houses

Have you tried looking on the gallery? There's many households that are full of just random sims for you to...100 baby challengeify. Just download them, place on a random lot, and bam more...suitors.

Yes, but when every house in almost every world is empty, it's too much. If I try to put them in a house they can't afford. Or if I try to check them out first. There are enough evil, mean etc. sims in the worlds I don't need more. I'm trying NSB but this time in the beginning I stoped aging for other sims. But they really need to fix that for people like me who don't know what they're doing. Plus I type with one finger, things take me forever. I mostly stayed in one world so I didn't notice it happening, it snuck up on me.

Do you use mods? With MCC the townies should get together and have children, that way you won't run out of sims.

What I do is fill all the houses in all the worlds with families from my library (some I made myself and many are from the gallery). I do this right away when I start a new game. I use the "freerealestate on" cheat code so I can put them into any house I want.

Yeah, it is a bit strange that they stop filling when one has enabled “fill empty houses”. I have that option on in some of my saves as well, and in one save where my sim lives in Henford-on-Bagley it has only been empty houses in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs that have been filled despite my having played through several sim years (I do have aging off, though). In another save where my sims live in San Myshuno two empty apartments were filled, but other than that it was once again only empty houses in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs that had randomly generated townies move in. No one was moved in in any of the other worlds, which is pretty odd.

As for your 100 baby challenge, do the dads have to have a house? Or has the game simply stopped generating random townies altogether?

There are so many random generated NPC townies. (Not in World) If I don't delete them, then I may actually spend a day or two playing the game and combine them into a family/household. Like here for example. B)

Have you checked the settings? There is a setting for turning off townies to move in to empty houses, maybe that setting is on.

If you want to place your own sims but they can't afford the houses you can use the freerealestate on cheat to be able to move them in anywhere.

Have you checked the settings on all the empty houses? If the box for the number of bedrooms is empty, the game thinks there are no bedrooms and won't fill those houses with Sims. So even if a house has bedrooms, if that box isn't filled, it thinks there are none. Just a thought... :)

Interesting.

Some people upload townie households of 8 sims to flesh out saves.

20,000 + (7 x 2000) = 34,000 starting funds, so more choice of homes to move them into. You can even evict them once placed so they are homeless and then place more.
