I don't understand why people think they are going to be a minor feature? Of course there not going to be reveal in th e teaser.There was another teaser that had a fairy house at the livestream.
Too many people have been burned, I think. I mean, I was dissappointed as soon as Faeries were in an expansion pack rather than a Game Pack. To date, no Occult released with a Sims 4 Expansion Pack has been well developed. Ghosts don't count, imo, because Ghosts got an Upgrade, rather than being developed whole cloth for the expansion. If they had revised Aliens and Mermaids to match since then, I'd be more convinced.
In addition to that, while I'll grant Marketing isn't always the best at reading what the Sims Community will actually get hyped for, that they're not giving us any real hints beyond the leaks and the one Fairy house has me worried that they know they're not up to the community's expectations.
Personally, I just... I want to get my inevitable rant about what Faeries could have been out of my system so that I can get hyped for what Faeries actually are, rather than being concerned about how bad they could be. But I can't do that until I see them in action somehow, and a Fairy House Party and a still image don't actually show me faeries in action.
DaWaterRat That's pretty close to how I feel about fairies. I just want to know how bad the damage is so I can focus on what we do get rather than what could have been. I will find a place in my game for fairies even if they are as shallow as mermaids. That's obviously not my preferred scenario but I can make it work. However if they end up like the unicorns, then I might skip this EP after all.
As for the fairy house,... one object doesn't equal a playable lifestate. We have so many other objects to befriend in the game (linZ, talking toilets, hamster cages,...) or the cottage living tree stumps to spawn little creatures to help in the garden. With the sims 4 anything is possible.

My thing is if Ghost in life and Death were able to get skill trees.There no reason faries can' get skill trees as well.I think Ghost does count ,they got a skill tree and have appearence new features .The only resource they need add to faries in created a sims is there wings ?That is verry doable .

2. Enchanted by Nature tease ,.Mentioning these magic creatures will have powers that can advance nature ,emotions,and many more ? Now itf it was going to be a minor feature .Why mention it all ?
This pack is not going to come with a huge system .Like For Rent,or Buisiness and Hobbise .
First off, I hope that Fairy CAS is more than just wings and pointed ears. I don't expect it to be too much more than that, but I'm a student of Faerie lore, and Cute little things with wings, aka Pixies, are just one type of Faerie. I don't expect it to be as extensive as I'd want (or that skin update would be coming with this update, not the next one) but I hope we can at least do Elves, and maybe shoehorn in something goblin-like (just need to be able to morph the face in Fairy form without that affecting the mundane form), in addition to Pixies. But I also have to prepare myself for it basically being just wings slapped on the otherwise normal Sim, which will be ... underwhelming, to say the least. Kinda like how I found the fairy house.

Now, is there plenty of space for Fairies to get a skill tree? Sure. what's been teased for the rest of the pack has not been that deep or extensive. But we're also looking at EA's track record, and prior to Life and Death it has not been good for occults in Expansion Packs, and we don't really have enough data to say that Life and Death represented a change in approach, rather than a miracle one-off. That they didn't also take the opportunity to slip in a Mermaid Basinette or some alien infant clothing options that weren't refits of Alien Toddler options (caveat, I have not played with aliens or mermaids since before the infant update, but I think I would have heard something) doesn't really speak well to it being a new direction.
Basically EA has let us down with missed opportunities before, to the point where some people feel it's better to start with the worst case scenario, so that what we do get becomes a pleasant surprise, rather than being let down again.
Why I understand that we do not have enough evidence,but I think Life and Death is reacent enough.To aleast consider it.
1.Ea knows faries have been highly requested and they know people expect them to be fleshed out.
2.The supernaturals in expansions packs happen years ago.Aliens was first with no tease or mention in trailer.Mermaids evan though they are more flesh out than sims 3.They were never a big advertisement for the pack.The last one was robots.Which again were robots.

Yeah, but when you've gotten the kids off-brand knock offs or incomplete playsets for several years, you can't expect them to be brimming with excitement expecting a top of the line complete train set just because two years ago you got them a cool set of action figures.
Also, I'm not a kid. This is not a gift. This is a $40USD pack I have to budget for, and I have a lot going on this summer that is also demanding my fun money.
