Too many people have been burned, I think. I mean, I was dissappointed as soon as Faeries were in an expansion pack rather than a Game Pack. To date, no Occult released with a Sims 4 Expansion Pack has been well developed. Ghosts don't count, imo, because Ghosts got an Upgrade, rather than being developed whole cloth for the expansion. If they had revised Aliens and Mermaids to match since then, I'd be more convinced.
In addition to that, while I'll grant Marketing isn't always the best at reading what the Sims Community will actually get hyped for, that they're not giving us any real hints beyond the leaks and the one Fairy house has me worried that they know they're not up to the community's expectations.
Personally, I just... I want to get my inevitable rant about what Faeries could have been out of my system so that I can get hyped for what Faeries actually are, rather than being concerned about how bad they could be. But I can't do that until I see them in action somehow, and a Fairy House Party and a still image don't actually show me faeries in action.
DaWaterRat That's pretty close to how I feel about fairies. I just want to know how bad the damage is so I can focus on what we do get rather than what could have been. I will find a place in my game for fairies even if they are as shallow as mermaids. That's obviously not my preferred scenario but I can make it work. However if they end up like the unicorns, then I might skip this EP after all.
As for the fairy house,... one object doesn't equal a playable lifestate. We have so many other objects to befriend in the game (linZ, talking toilets, hamster cages,...) or the cottage living tree stumps to spawn little creatures to help in the garden. With the sims 4 anything is possible.
