I don't really regret buying any of the packs I have, but I'm very selective and watch reviews and only buy something if I really, really want it. Because of that, I only have the 3 EPs, Spa Day, Backyard Stuff, and Vintage Glamour. I'm also lucky because I didn't get back into Sims until the end of last year, so I got the base game for $12, each EP 50% off (actually, I got GT, which is my favorite, for 60% off), Spa Day for $15, and have used Amazon gift cards for the SPs.
Not that long ago, my game was being a little laggy and I was considering uninstalling GTW, since it's the EP I use the least. But I couldn't figure out how to uninstall it by itself on Origin, so I didn't. Since then, I've played and enjoyed the scientist career and have started building more, so I've noticed the build/buy objects I'd have given up. So I'm glad I didn't!
If I ever get a better computer and continue finding things on sale, I might buy more packs that I'm mildly interested in. For example, I play families more than anything else and am interested in the Kids Room pack, but not enough to bog my game down with it. Especially since I plan on getting the next game pack, pending more information!
