Well this is an interesting thread. I'm African American myself, if that even matters.
I mostly make white sims or Hispanic families, I do play with black families from time to time though but not as often and I'm actually trying to change that. I think I've only played an Asian family like 2 times. Race doesn't matter to me, like I don't think about my sims getting together, as far as relationships go. I just see love as love not color but that's just me *shrug*
As far as stereotypes go, this is the only instance when I 'impose' my view on my simmies. I believe there's good and bad in every race and all the black sims I make have hair textures that are actually afro-centric if that makes sense. (Braids, puffs, dreads) I'm very dedicated to African history and culture and things like that so I stay away from the stereotypes in my game. Even with other races like hispanics, I just see them as simmies so it doesn't phase me.
The *only* time I actually deliberately use stereotypes negatively in my game and things of that nature is for creative reasons (stories) and it's never something I take seriously, I just do it to show that not everyone has the same views on things and yada yada.
All of my sims are heterosexual, once again I don't sit there and actually think about this when I play the game. If I made some of my friends on the sims then I would have same gender couples in the game but I've never really thought about doing that.
As far as religion goes I'm Christian/ exploring right now (I'm still young) I believe in God but I'm not sure I agree with all of the things said in the bible but that doesn't matter as far as this thread goes. I don't consider myself to be God to my sims, that's just a little bit over the top for me. When my sims die I'm actually sad with them and I wish we could have funerals. I let my sims live their own lifestyles, some really bad and some really good so no I don't impose my religion on my simmies BUT I do like to make them celebrate holidays like Christmas and I would like to attempt having an ethnic family celebrate Kwanzaa, in the future.
*Not trying to start anything-I'm not even returning to this thread*
I don't understand how some people don't find certain colors 'beautiful'. We have three layers of skin: The epidermis, the dermis, and the hypo-dermis. The dermis and the hypo-dermis are exactly the same inside of everyone so if we didn't have our epidermis would you think flesh and blood was beautiful? Because we all have it...I just don't understand some people, the media brainwashes us and it's truly sad. But then again this issue has occurred throughout history for so long so the media can't even be fully blamed for some of this.
