Well, if you count the fact that I had Vulcans and Romulans in my game, I guess you could say I play with racial diversity. I do play strictly according to my own morals. I've only experienced four divorces in my games and I started playing Sims in 2005 with Sims2. The latest divorce tore me up, too. The woman, obviously jealous of her rock star singer husband, kept autonomously putting their newborn son out on the front lawn of their mansion, in the rain at night! First time, I was appalled, but let it slide, vowing to myself to watch that Sim. When she did it a second time, again completely on her own, I brought her hubby, having just finished his gig, home. He berated her, after rescuing the infant, of course. I was still up in the air about what to do about the situation when Torrie decided things for me. Once again, she placed the infant out in the rain at night. This time Erik was just home again from a gig. I set them to fighting and suddenly the "break up" option appeared. I was like whoa, things weren't quite as repaired between them as I thought. So, I clicked it. Then I went into Edit Town to move her out of the house, lest she take the baby with her. He got all kinds of flack, being a celebrity, for the split, but I sent him to court to sue for slander — and he won! Yes, he did have custody, after all. I've only ever had one non-traditional pair of Sims in my game. I was playing the crew from the Star Trek Simm game I played. One player decided to make his character gay. So, in keeping with the 'cast' of characters, these two were also created. However, I just more or less let them be. I didn't actually play them. Mostly my characters marry before they bed together. I'm not even fond of allowing them to share a mattress if they're engaged. This isn't the 1700s, after all, where the Bundling Boards were used to determine if a new couple were 'compatible'. Yes, reading about this shocked me, too. Just goes to prove there is nothing new under the sun. LOL
