1.Ethnicity
How do you approach ethnicity in your game?
I make all sorts of groups in my game. I intermarry all sorts of races.
Do you avoid playing, marrying, creating, or interacting with Sims of certain ethnicity?
No they intermarry all the time.
Do you create characters of a different ethnicity than your own and give them stereotypical personalities, hairstyles or clothing?
Sometimes I do ethnic hair for my sims.
Do your Sims closely reflect your personal ethnicity and cultural values in gameplay?
Most of my sims are the family type. I am big on family so that is about as valued as I get in game. I do always make my sim a witch however, in sims 2 and 3.
Do you incorporate socio-economics when creating Sims of various ethnicity?
Nah all my sims are treated equally as far as money. Motherlode works well. Except when I play a rags to riches challenge or something.
2.Sexuality
How do you identify your Sims in regards to sexuality and gender?
Male and Female duh. The game only gives those two options.
When and how do you choose your Sims sexual preference/identity?
Most of my Sims are straight. Sometimes I am playing a story line that includes other things (ie romance sim in sims 2 for instance) But most of my sims get married either before pregnancy or shortly after, and are straight because I prefer family sims types.
Do you avoid creating LGBT/SGL Sims or do you incorporate them actively?
I only create them when it fits a story line I am telling. Or if a sim shows interest in a sim of the same gender or something.
Do most of your Sims or your main Sim reflect your sexual identity?
Yes.
How do you feel about playing romantic actions with a Sim of a different gender or sexual preference than you?
Whatever
If playing a couple of opposite genders, do you engage certain romantic interactions with one gender?
No
In same gender couples, do you place masculine and feminine roles on them?
No
3.Religion
Did you notice the absence of the word "Christmas" from The Sims team and do you have any thoughts on that?
EA tries to not include Christmas things persay as Christmas, and only show the more commercial things involved with the holiday, plus they try and make the game generic for multiple holidays that occur around the same time. If I want my sims to do something Christmasy I have them do it. There is all sorts of custom content out there for sims 2 and 3 at least, that allows some form of religion. There eventually will be for sims 4 I suspect.
Do you incorporate religion/spirituality into your gameplay?
Sometimes.
Do you view yourself as a God or eternal being among your Sims?
I am their creator, yes, however, in my world, I presume the general belief system I have belongs to my sims too (my world after all!) They believe in a Divine Being.
How do you view/observe life and death in your gameplay?
They never die.
Do you consider your Sims to be of a certain religion?
Christian I presume. But not necessarily. Just good people :)
