I have the tendency to give my Sims everyday wear to suit the season I plan to start them out in. Then, as the season changes, I take the family into cas.fulleditmode and change their everyday wear to be more suited for the season they're in. It's a real pain when summer is cold, however. I've got a mod in use that allows for a three-week season, which I like far better. It's day 12 of 21 and most of the mornings start out cold. Yet by midday or later it's a real scorcher. (Reminds me of a saying we have here, "You know you're in Utah when you have the furnace on in the morning, and the A.C. on in the afternoon.) :* I also use MCCC so that's not a real worry, as I can just click on the MC dresser command under the cheat and change my Sims' outfit.
What is a real worry is when my Sims decide to go swimming, or just to sit on the edge of the pool in their swimsuit, dangling their lower legs in the water in the WINTER. "What is wrong with you!" I can be heard yelling at my Sims. First time I got the message a certain Sim was freezing to death I nearly panicked. Had to come to these boards for help. Turns out, there is a 'grace' period that allows the player to do something about it before the Sim actually dies. Phew! Also, installing a thermostat in the home will help keep your Sims from wearing the cold weather clothing indoors. Fireplaces that are lit, aren't recognized, which is too bad. They didn't have forced-air heating in the 18th century … talk about an immersion-kill.
