Experiences with Pets & City Living Apartments?

I'm curious what people's experiences are with keeping pets in CL's apartments. I imagine cats are pretty straightforward but dogs might be another story. So far I've been having a hard time potty tra...

For almost a year now there has been an issue where the dogs can't leave or enter certain buildings on their own. In my experience it has mostly been buildings in the financial district but there might be other apartments with the same problem. It saddens me a bit because I haven't been able to use my favorite building in SM since C&D was released.
