Failed pregnancy tests?

I honestly didn't know these were a thing until yesterday. Up to now every single time I have tried for a baby it has been successful, until my Sim had not one, but two failed attempts to conceive.

I like the added drama, but I wonder, are these rare? I always thought just from my own experience that try for a baby was always successful (unlike real life!)

My Sim just cried and cried. I felt badly for her, but you know, even in RL the test comes out negative, sometimes.

The funny thing about my couple is that the husband had no trouble impregnating his wife's friend. :D I do like drama in my game.

I've had this happen a few times now. While I do feel bad for my sims, I kinda like that they didn't instantly succeed. I'd prefer that they had to try a few times, that way when they do succeed it feel more rewarding.

I had it happen once, although oddly enough when it actually made some sense. I had a sim that was transgender who decided to have a child for his partner but found out that the first attempt wasn't successful. After a few tries and, much like in-vitro, the two ended up with twins!

I like it because it is realistic that people aren't always successful on their first attempt of trying to conceive. My sim Laila failed to conceive a few (real) days ago on her first try (Travis Scott is her boyfriend). I felt so bad for her but her next attempt was successful and her daughter Priya is now a toddler.

Yes. Has happened to me. This is why, if my Sims are impregnating Sim ladies that do not live in the household, they get to 'try for baby' 2-3 times in a row before I send the tired Sim lady away. At least they leave happy though :lol:

On my first negative pregnancy test, I rage-quit and deleted the save.

It happened to my sim twice in a row. I felt so bad for her. But she got 3rd time lucky

Out of all the babies I have had born in game, I don't think I've ever had a failed pregnancy test until, using MCCC I lowered the rate to 50%.

Then my Sim had 3 failed tests in a row. 4th time worked, though.
