False MOO Cheat Alert?

I was updating my old regular builds, some of which are years old, and I got the MOO cheat alert for a number of them. Except, I built them myself and I never use that cheat. Ever. In the entire lifespan of 4 I have never turned it on. Has anyone else been getting false alerts here?

  • @Chazzy, how would you not know you've enabled a cheat, though? Does it go there by default? I have never EVER even tried to enable it. I don't even know the command. Yet, I got that popup on both of my newest builds. Face/palm. Not happily.
  • I'll use MOO to do little things like put two objects on an end table move or a dresser just a bit closer to the end of a bed, and I test the lot without cheats to make sure it's playable and place-able. All my builds are now going to be tagged MOO, even though they don't require MOO to use.

    Related: CUSTOM CONTENT.
If you have custom content enabled while you build, the game considers the build Custom Content, even if you used nothing but base game content. If you have it enabled, start building, turn it off and restart, the lot you started will still be considered custom content.

  • I don't have CC in my game and I didn't use the MOO cheat. MOO is not enabled in my game. I used ALT to place flowers, outside light poles, and on the fountain on this lot.

Did anyone made a bug report?

Not necessarily. I know some players have this problem, for example Deligracy, but I have CC (both B&B and CAS) and my builds get flagged for custom content only when I am really using it.

  • I just tested it and ALT is giving a false positive for the MOO cheat. This lot which I didn't use ALT didn't say I had used the MOO cheat.

  • The message it gives when you place the lot can and likely will make people have a buggy game play, because it says to type in the MOO cheat when you place the lot.

Even though when you type in the cheat it was says if MOO is off or on.

A lot of people are going to miss that they turned it on instead of off, when they do what the message says to do.

  • I said this already...
Move objects on is ok. Having it on all the time, not good.
It basically allows objects to get closer and/or overlap.
Usable objects, be careful with this.
"Useless" decoration clutter, not a worry.

I've seen this with great builders that made a lot or room that have a dozen windows in exactly the same spot.
So on all the time = not good.
On sometimes to place objects = good.
