I think it is so cute to use the paint from reference option to paint family members. Here is a few of my current family

You paintings are great. It takes a lot of time to get to the point of making those type painting. I think the painting feature is one of the most fun things to do in the game. I just wish the paintings wouldn't bloat my save files so much. Again, great work on the paintings!
I just wish they had the option like other sim games to be able to paint from an already saved picture as a reference
