To be honest, none of them shine through the rooftops to me. They all have something that could have been made better or something that is completely missing.
Seasons with the lack of summer/new pool activities and the lack of new social interactions and games or the lame snowball/mud/water balloon fights.
Get Famous. Too small of a world with too little lots to build but otherwise actually great.
Get to Work with the cheaper version of the retail system compared to Open for Business and tons of bugs.
Get Together with the lack of nightlife activities and lack of club activities.
Cats & Dogs with the lack of actual pet beds, dog houses and smaller pets.
Island Living with the lack of scuba diving skill and underwater lots.
City Living with teleportation elevators, inability to make apartments in other worlds, festivals re-use BG objects.
There's disappointment in all of them, I just have to find the least disappointing one and for me that's Seasons. "Sigzy05;c-17139186" wrote:

I only own seasons, and I completely agree with the fights. The Sims stand there and never move u til they get hit. And it is the lamest animation ever.- Get Together is by far my favorite EP. A brand new concept to the franchise very well executed, an incredible world, and many great items.
Get to work comes in second place for me. The 3 careers are nice, owning business is something I love, and the aliens were a nice touch too.
Island Living is my least favorite. It's just pretty looking, but there's no actual gameplay. - Get prepared for reviews of all 7 EP’s. Also, where is Get Famous? You may not like it but please don’t pretend like it doesn’t exist ? ? Also, keep in mind 10 stars is PERFECT on this rating scale and 0 stars is AWFUL. Along with that, know I’ve never played any other sims game so have nothing to compare it to. So, I’m not gonna hate on ts4 just cause it’s not sims 3. Now, let’s start because I’ll probably be writing this for literally half an hour. But Spotify is open + ready!
1. City Living
(9.9 ⭐️)
I truly love it. I don’t know what it is. It’s not disappointing AT ALL. Offers so many new experiences for sims. And apartments... oh my. I better not get carried away. Just know it didn’t come to play and isn’t disappointing. I feel like I don’t even have to describe it’s greatness, but I may be biased since it was my first sims 4 EP.
2. Cats and Dogs
(8.75 ⭐️)
I don’t know about this one. It was tough, but overall, Cats and Dogs was a pretty great EP. Pet genetics were ok, Brindleton Bay on the other hand was great considering I was raised in a similar town to that.. just more traditional. The pet skills & items were pretty good as well.
3. Get Together
(7.5 ⭐️)
This was also a tough one. But, I must admit Windenburg is pretty ok. The architecture is nice, and it’s very visually pleasing. As a European girl, the European theme is iconic and I use it a lot in my games. The club system is quite meh but all in all I was ok with the pack and didn’t have too many complaints.
4. Get to Work
(6.2 ⭐️)
Honestly, this was the first EP, right? I don’t think they really knew what they were doing. The entrepreneurship system is meh, the jobs are pretty good I have to say. But Aliens are.. interesting. I play them quite a lot. I play them more than mermaids but less than Vampires, but that says a lot considering I play occult’s as much I play normal sims if not more, in different saves.
5. Seasons
(5 ⭐️)
I know I’m gonna get a bunch of plum just for rating Seasons 5th, but don’t worry! I’ve come with real reasons and I’m not just gonna be one of those Anti-Seasons players. The first reason is... I really, truly, from the bottom of my heart feel it should’ve been included in the base game. It kinda keeps me from liking it and definitely keeps me from putting it anywhere close to 1st place. Also, no new world... oof... ok... and idk if we got any new prepared or townies but either way already pretty disappointing. The actual season aspect is pretty great. Full on love the holiday system and the calendar. But, other than that and the great female hairstyles, I don’t have much good to say. Sorry, not sorry.
6. Get Famous
(4.1 ⭐️)
Ok now I feel bad for Get Famous because not only was it not an option on this poll but I’m literally giving it a 4. But again, let me explain. First of all, the positives... ok, so I did like the fact that it felt like something new. It didn’t have the typical basic theme so I was a little excited. But, I kinda had a mixed reaction. Maybe because I’ve never cared for celebrities with the exception of Kpop stars and a few YouTubers. So, since I didn’t care to terribly much about them, I didn’t necessarily want my sims becoming celebrities. I find it really annoying that normal sims or even sims of lower fame levels can barely even talk to Famous sims. I also hate how sims drop everything they’e doing when a celebrity walks in the room. Just little things like that. Del Sol Valley feels very incomplete and the lack of items is sad. The acting career is just meh. I don’t know. Mixed reaction before the pack came and after. It’s a cool thing to do once or twice- as far as rising to fame, maybe dating a famous sim and having famous kids... but other than that, it kinda seems like a $40 joke.
7. Island Living
(2.3 ⭐️)
Get ready for a long, long rant. Or maybe I’ll shorten it down because I know so many people are so excited for IL and I’m giving it 1/5 (2.3/10) stars. Well, once again, let’s start with the positives. Island Living is very, VERY visually pleasing. Beautiful cas items, build mode items, and world. May I even say, best world so far, as far as visual pleasure goes? I know, shook. But other than that... eww. Just no. If it was a game pack it probably would’ve gotten a reasonable 8 star rating at least. There’s not much to do at all. Mermaids are meh. You can’t even vacation there and it’s a plumming tropical pack?! I would’ve liked it for $15. It gets boring so quick. Lots of youtubers are saying it really lacks in many many ways. One sim-tuber opened up a video like “I’m over Island a Living”. I couldn’t say more. If I didn’t have much time to write this whole rant, that’s literally what I’d write. It’s not a good pack and it’s so, so, so overpriced, if you haven’t bought it yet please don’t pay full price unless you’re prepared to dislike it or rich, but neither of which I was when I paid full-price for it. I mainly bought it for the hype because I’d never felt so much hype since like, literally CIty Living which got almost 5 TIMES the rating this pack gets. Just uh... be safe. Protect your money. When I feel more City Living’s hype train, I ended up with my favorite pack. I thought the same would go for IL.. but it doesn’t. R.I.P. my 40 ?
Anybody else notice a certain pattern? Get Together, City Living, and Cats and Dogs- released in that order- end of 2015 to end of 2017- were, in my opinion, the prime days of the sims 4. Even the people who were reluctant to give up sims 3 gave sims 4 a try and liked it. We were getting great content. Forget EP’s, we also got Vampires & Parenthood, my top 2 favorite EP’s, in that time period. Same goes for stuff packs around that era. The ts4 youtube community was thriving, forums was thriving, content on fleek, everything was so great. I wanna time travel back to experience the excitement I felt playing around this time because it’s much better than how I feel playing now, 1.5-3.5 years ago. Well, that concludes my rant. Please let me know if you agree, and if you read this whole thing I applaud you and am so thankful. Also, note this took over 45 minutes to write. So yea! Thanks :)
