My favourite is gardening. I've never liked it in previous iterations but in TS4 it's very rewarding and just fun to do.
I don't like herbalism just because it's boring and tedious since I always feel like I have to do the aspirations that goes along with it and it sucks.
I especially don't like archaeology and acting, with the culture skill as well. The reason being because they clutter up the sims "talk" menu the most, especially acting, like jesus!
I play with mostly super sims that are very skilled and their interaction menus with other sims is a nightmare, even more so with acting and archeology adding new side menus!
With the culture skill my sims just can not stay away from the stereo and do that dance you learn to do with the skill. I have had to hunt down my restaurant owner so many times only to find him doing that butt dance in front of the guests...
I really wish we could disable all the "reward" interactions you unlock with skilling.
