I like developing all the skills where you gain objects to use eg. handiness or painting as well as those which come with new and interesting animations interactions eg. cooking, music, mischief.
I find charisma and computer / writing skills boring as it is endlessly the same and I fast forward through it.
I am surprised so many people don't like photography. I agree the selfies and posed photos of others are a bit plum but your sim can take gorgeous candid shots and landscape shots that show up in your screen shots. I love experimenting with what my sim can achieve and would eventually like to make some customised art for my sim's houses based on their own photography. The simstigram photos of food and pets can also be wonderful art for the home.
