Writing is my favorite. I love naming books and following themes with the titles as if my sims were writing a long-running series.
I also love cooking. But it's a bit frustrating in TS4. In 3 sims could be good or bad cooks. In 4 almost all my sims wind up with level 10 cooking skill with barely any effort at all.
