Festivals and weather

Move them inside? Inside something like an arena, perhaps? Sounds good to me.
It's been a while since I've been to one during the winter, or even in San Myshuno at all, but I seem to remember a festival having heating towers. Might be just mixed memories.
Either case, making sure your sim has their winter clothing on should help. If you do want to enjoy the festivals more, making sure the severe weather isn't on would help. It would be a downer to be only just getting to know the living statue and they got struck by lightning. (Interacting with the living statue enough and you get their wardrobe added to your sim's inventory)

Well, you should try to hit GeekCon in the rain... everything will be broken. And, you don't know that it's raining at the festival (if you live elsewhere) until after you get there and all the computers, tv, gaming mats, etc are all broken and you can't do anything.

I even got a mod to stop electronics from breaking in the rain. Which I didn't want to have to mod it completely out, but otherwise, Geekcon is too broken to play.

I mean.... Seems pretty realistic to me. I would just wait till spring or summer to go to the festivals.

A gazebo would be cool for rainy days at the festival, to protect sims AND their electronics.

The electronics could be in a heated tent - or give us the option to build on the festival sites

yea its kind of annoying. and sometimes its raining at the festival but not at my home lot, so i have no idea that my outing is going to be ruined beforehand. they really should be indoors now

YES! They need to update the Geekon festival to spawn with something above it to protect it from the rain.

I'm so glad to see this. I think that the festivals should all be "fair weather" spots so that the equipment doesn't get ruined or you freeze to death at the spice festival etc. - just have them free from weather affects.

It would be nice. I hope they consider fixing this. I really like the idea of the festivals.

I do think geekcon in particular is quite bad with weather--when was the last time a comic con was held outside anyway?? The others I don't mind so much, and shivering or getting wet at a food or romance festival is kind of...realistically and endearingly annoying to me, more than intolerable. And you can usually head inside to whatever the public lots are and still do festival type things (like flirting, eating, telling jokes, ect) and have fun. But since so much of geek con is equipment based, it really feels out of place outside. A tent would an improvement. OR, an update that gave an upgrade option for electronics to install some kind of "waterproof circuitry," and then have THOSE versions at geekcon.
