Finished laundry question

Have been reminded why I almost never bother with the laundry part of that stuff pack. A sim finished a load of laundry. Clicked on dryer and the stuff is clean and dry. The unload options are to put it onto the floor or into the hamper. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be put away normally? Is this messed up, like much of the game, or is there some object that I should have but don't.

The only CC is some clothing, hair, and furniture, the only mod is MCCC

Thanks in advance

You need to reset your washer and dryer. Once the clothes are dry you should be able to put them away. As far as I know, only dirty or wet clothes go on the floor or into the hamper.

Thank you. How does one reset washer and dryer?

You need to shift click on them and in the interaction menu you will see the option to reset object.

Tried that and the option never appeared, whether empty or loaded.

What seems to have worked, so far anyway, is a bit odd. Installed a clothes ine so laundry could at least get dried. Putting dry laundry away wsa not a problem. Had another load in the washer so put that into dryer when washing done to have a loaded dryer for the reset test. Putting away worked. Somehow the clothesline working made the dryer work. At least for that gaming session.

You need to activate testingcheats first.

Whoa, thanks for the tip. I am making a concerted effort to have the Sim who is attending the laundry, clean the lint trap, but still. More often than not, the clothes coming out of the dryer are used and dirty. Either the Sim dropped Wash clothes from their queue, or something went wrong. I do know that you get used and dirty clothes when the dryer breaks, which is frequently by the way. And I have learned there is little value in upgrading, which you lose when you end up replacing the machine that just broke for the umpteenth time in one week!

I do love adding this feature to my lots, however. I often have a 'Homemaker' who takes care of the wee ones while everybody else goes off to work or school. This gives them other things to do. I miss the unmade beds, however. My kids rarely did more than throw their covers toward the pillow, which never looked as nice as in the game. Wished that was all it took! LOL No tugging, no smoothing, no having to change them. Oh, well, I like these added features, if only they would work right.
  • The laundry can be wonky. One time it works with one sim and another, sim can't put clean/damp clothes in the dryer. There are a couple of my sims for whom the laundry is just a memory. :D
