Fire Alarm With No Fire?

Hi Today I visited one of my other Sims' families.  Got inside their lot (inside the house) and I could hear a really annoying alarm going off. I have not been able to find the source. I removed the smoke detector from the living room, where the sound was the loudest, yet that did not remove the sound. If I upload the lot the My Library and download it again, will that fix the problem?

Is this a common error? Or a bug?
