FIRE!

I am so sick of having so many damn fires. I just started to play the Sims again and I don't like having to try to put out so many fires in one household. It's silly just cooking the amount of times they had a fire. Even after upgrades.
  • My sim just went through a Fire Drill at her school. She was supposed to go outside, and wait, but nooooo, she decided it was a great idea to go back inside the building to dance. lol
  • I had one go back inside to play on the computer. I was worried though, there was a firefighter playing on the computer next to hers.?

One thing I can say is what increase the chance of cooking fire:
    • Cursed lot trait
    • Industrial eco footprint
    • Fear of fire

Of course there's also a scenario where the sim constantly causes fires while cooking...

Does your Sim have the fear of fire currently? That fear supposidly makes fires excessively common to the point it'll give your entire household a fear very fast.

I'd say to turn off wants and fears, then back on if you want to keep them and get rid of the fear quickly so you can cook without the house or toilet lighting on fire three times every day. Otherwise there is a good chance you could also remove a lot trait if you happen to have the cursed one, which by default shouldn't be there.

I've had specific Sims start fires every time when they were in the kitchen, despite learning other recipes. I ban those Sims from the kitchen,
However, my Sims have all set fires the moment they moved into the house at least once. I have taken the time to cancel their desire to use the stove, and force them to create salads, and other less harmful foods, to build up their cooking skills. Then I will usually let them use the stove again.

Its funny because I did the fire scenario a few months back, which was listed as Hard and my poor sim only had ONE fire the entire scenario!
  • I'd add space heaters too close to other items as a fire hazard.

I did that too! But I found out my sim would not cause any fire if he cooked in public lots (e.g. bars)!
