first AND second time this has ever happened!

Traits, such as noncommittal, can affect a sims chances of accepting or rejecting a proposal. So can the sims current mood.

I've an an issue with an unflirty sim. It was really hard to build their romantic relationship (she kept denying them or getting upset) and then she denied the proposal haha. I had to move her in so I could make *her* do the flirting and proposing

I've had this happen to me a few times, and I really don't know what causes. The odd part is that the sims who turn down the proposals don't even have the noncommittal trait. What I do in those cases, if I really want those two together, I will ask the other sim to move in, so I can control them, and have them do the proposal instead. Need to wait till after all negative moodlets are cleared up first.

My Sim was once turned down and then died of embarrassment because someone at the park discovered he was an alien. His girlfriend was off in the bathroom so she couldn't plead for him. It was a sad day.

This has been an issue as of late with several people I know.

Me and a friend are doing the drifter challenge. A lot of her sim couples didn't get married until later in life, if at all, because of repeated refusals. I have a couple (House009) that didn't get married for a bit, because of repeated refusals.

She told me, she'd heard of a lot of people having the issue, too. It doesn't matter the traits, the relationship, the mood, the encounter, or who is doing the purposing.... all refused.

The only thing I can suggest is wait a bit longer, a few days and see if it finally goes. That's how me and her have had to do it, just wait and try again later. It'll eventually go.

I have a sad story to begin with, but it's ended well.. lol.. My Sim liked this one guy that she met at a cafe... She asked him to go out multiple times and was denied every time. They eventually got together. One day, the guy proposed to my Sim but, she rejected the proposal without my interference. On the flip side, she proposed to him and now they are happily married with twins. Both do not have the non-committal trait... so, I suspect that, it could happen randomly, especially when you let your date hungry or uncomfortable. ;)

I only had that happen once. It was back when the sims 4 came out. It turned out that my sims sleep level was low. Low sleep, hunger, fun, hygine and bladder to either sim can cause rejection. Also the sims mood. Make sure both sims are happy and that their motives are not low.

I had this happen a while ago too. My Sim had won the lottery so she and her live-in boyfriend took a vacation to Granite Falls. They were both in extremely good moods, neither one has any traits that would interfere and they had just woo hooed. Well, when my Sim proposed right after outside the tent in the campgrounds, he denied her. It was very upsetting.

I posted about it on another thread of Simmers having the same problem and someone mentioned that they've only had proposals rejected when it took place outside. If they proposed inside a house, everything went as planned. So, I don't know if your rejected proposals took place outside, but if so, try proposing inside and see if that helps.

Really, it shouldn't matter where the proposal takes place as long as both parties have full friend/romance bars, no one has an interfering trait and all their moods are in the green. I'm guessing it's a glitch/bug that needs to be fixed. I have not tested this out myself though. It was traumatizing enough the first time it happened, I don't want another possible rejection for no reason. So, in my most recent NSB save, my Sim proposed to her live-in boyfriend inside their home and he readily accepted.

If this is a bug that really sucks. It really adds realism with random acceptances and denials without the help of traits.
