Yep, very handy indeed, shuts up any baby in seconds. Too bad it unlocks so late, because by the time my sims get that far with the Parenting skill, they usually don't have any more babies. The only time I could ever make use of it was after a random alien abduction that resulted in pregnancy, long after that couple had already raised all their planned children.
Yeah that is a bit of a problem, thankfully my current gameplay she had to get parenting level 10 a few aspirations ago, so she adopted a little girl and maxed it out on her so now with the big family aspiration it came in very handy ;)
