First toddler with both parents as werewolf but...

My first werewolf couple had a child, who is now a toddler but he isn't displaying any werewolf actions. Is just like a normal toddler and only has his Charming toddler trait I chose for him but in CAS he has the werewolf icon and in game, his Needs icon is the same as his werewolf mother but of course no werewolf ability menu or werewolf fury measurement spear.

Does that mean that Wolfgrim has the dormant trait? Is the dormant trait a hidden trait and doesn't show up with his other visible traits?

I am a bit confused here, because I was sure that the dormant werewolf trait would be visible and if a toddler has one, then his or her needs icon would be just like everybody else's that are non occult Sims.

  • That's because toddlers don't have those - they don't happen until teen+ usually. And dormant wolf is a visible trait.
  • Have one of your werewolf parents try to teach him to howl. It's a toddler (and I think maybe child) interaction on young werewolves.

As WildIrishBanshee said, he'll gain full werewolf interactions when he becomes a teen.
  • That means my Wolfgrim is a full werewolf. I finally found the teach howling thing for his mom. I swear I couldn't find it before I sent the tyke to bed. There wasn't even a werewolf pie menu in the talk catalog between them.

And yes, that is what got me confused because I could swear that I had read that dormant wolf was a visible trait but as his mom couldn't teach him the howling thing I thought he was pure human until I opened him in CAS and saw the werewolf logo. Then I checked to see if the dormant wolf was in his traits panel and it wasn't.

Either I was blind earlier or something happened in my game that fixed it when I sent the toddler, well the whole household to sleep.

Thanks much both of you

There may be a minimum level of communication skill required on the part of the toddler before it's an option. I can't be certain, though, as I've only played with werewolf kids once.
