I played the save with the dog for a couple of hours. I completed all the tricks, including fetch, and the dog stayed home with no problems. I have her needs and motives locked, and her emotional state set at happy. But I have the Explore mod by Kawaiistacie and as soon as her owner left the lot to go to the movies doggo left the lot. But even with him gone, I was able to call her back by clicking on her portrait and she returned without having to wait for him to go and find her. With motives and needs locked the disappearances are happening less often and the pets return as soon as they are summoned. I did pull the Explore mod out then repaired the game after pulling the localthumcache. But when I went back into the game and after playing about fifteen minutes, the dog disappeared but returned again as soon as she was called by me, not her owner. So I am fairly certain this is not a mod issue. I have played with and without mods CC, yet the problem persists.
Yeah, if all else fails, I will be turning off all the eco effects for a bit, too. Or at least until I decide which mod to use to lock the footprints at the levels I want them to stay. I was hoping to be able to do that just for the storylines I had in mind. But that hasn't gone the way I had hoped it would. I guess I will just keep at it, and see where it leads. Let me know what you learn in that new save. I think we're getting close to solving this. :)
