@RavenSpit Sorry I was late in replying to your latest post. My game imploded a bit on the 10th, just enough to require hours of sleuthing, checking every mod for an update that may have slipped by without me noticing, and generally driving me one step closer to giving up on this game entirely. The Quality Control team for this update and pack probably knew about the pets issue before we downloaded the update and/or bought the pack. That is the vibe I have been getting from some of the answers the gurus have been giving to players' questions about when we can expect a fix. Same old answer: 'We're working on it' . Well, duh. Of course you are because the teams always seem to be working on something yet we wait weeks and months for broken features to be fixed. And sometimes what the teams are working on have nothing to do with fixing the game. That's my rant for the day. On to tracking down the cause of our pets being kidnapped out of their own homes.
How many of you have pets and gardens at the same time? Do the pets disappear when your Sim doesn't have one? This is something I will be investigating later in a new save. I am up to ten testing saves at the moment, and have been taking notes on all of them. I have also been talking with a dear friend who is a genius when it comes to writing code, hoping she can teach me a bit more than what I know now. Which isn't much, but it's a start. If my friend didn't live in Chicago, communicating with her would go much more smoothly. The way we're doing it now isn't efficient. Anyway, about the gardens and what those do to the pets....since gardens are known to be glitched, I am going to start a new game in Magnolia Promenade and delete every venue. My NAPs and NPC voting have been turned off, rain and thunderstorms have been turned off, and I cheat to keep the season set to summer. Oh, and my new Sim will not have the Maker trait. If you give a Sim that trait, the game automatically assumes every Sim and pet in that household is in the Maker freelance career and spams the household with reminders to choose a new gig. How that little gem managed to go undetected during testing is up for debate, but I'm fairly certain that was another bug EA chose to let slide so the pack could be released on time. Wish me luck. I'm not sure my efforts are helping anyone right now. I am hoping a mod creator finds the key to this and releases a mod soon. But since no one has, I have the feeling this bug has deep roots that are buried beneath, or being pushed by some of the other bugs we've come across. :/
