What's everyone's opinion on the sparkling effect the game puts on food, drinks and plants? For me, I have a thing where stuff that blinks/shines etc just really bothers me. I wish there was a mod to remove the sparkling. I know there were people who hated the vampire sparkling in The Sims 3. I never played that, so I can't say. But this seems similar, but no one else seems to have a problem with it.

On the food and drink, it indicates they are fresh. On the plants and other collectibles in the environment, it's designed to draw your eye so you know the things are there, ready to be collected. The sparkle on the food doesn't bother me, but I could do without it. I do like the sparkle on the collectibles; it makes it easier for my collectors to find things.

I can plainly see where the food is at and if I need to know how fresh it is, there's a handy feature when you hover over it you get a notification of how long until said food goes bad.The constant twinkling of plants I have absolutely no intention of harvesting because their default neighborhood quality is inferior to what my sim can grow, is very annoying. Very, very distracting.As far as I have seen in my game, collectables do not sparkle (with the exception of ready to harvest plants). If they did, I wouldn't like that either because it isn't like those dig sites move around. I do not have OR, so maybe there are collectables in that pack which sparkle?

Ive been trying to get someone to make a mod to at least get the sparkles off of food and drinks... hopefully someone will or the game devs will make it am option.

I love the garden sparkles. Let's me know my plants are ready to evolve. I can take or leave the food sparkles.

Didn't they have that sparkle in Sims 3, out in the world where collectibles were? I don't mind it. Plus, the lack of sparkle reminds me that my plants are dying and I should probably take care of those! Haha

On the food and drink, it indicates they are fresh. On the plants and other collectibles in the environment, it's designed to draw your eye so you know the things are there, ready to be collected.

The sparkle on the food doesn't bother me, but I could do without it. I do like the sparkle on the collectibles; it makes it easier for my collectors to find things.

Sparkles should be an option because of the physical affects they have on players. Sims 2 and 3 both have sparkling on things as well. 2 on fresh food and 3 on collectibles.

Ts4 goes a bit overboard with sparkles, imo. Maybe if the food had been prepared by a pop diva, I'd believe it should sparkle. Otherwise... nope.

I think a wedding cake should sparkle and maybe the first few dishes cooked by a Sim who has 10 in the cooking skill. I've tried sending messages to modders and posted a few places about this, but haven't heard back.

I prefer the food to steam when it's fresh like it does in 3. And I hate any sparkle in the game. Like I hate the constant pop-ups the creators love to put into it.
