For anyone experiencing Simulation Lag...

A Simulation Lag Fix by Xerox: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=617117

I hope this helps you fix what should already have been taken care of in the first place.

  • Thanks for the heads-up. I remember using this mod when CL first came out and it worked quite well, but it needs to be frequently maintained and it wasn't. Hopefully the new author maintains it until EA fixes the issue!
  • Thanks for the heads up. I have noticed a slight delay occasionally when I direct my sims to do something.
  • For those of us hopelessly lacking outright knowledge, what is meant by simulation lag exactly? Would someone be so kind as to describe what is and what isn't happening. Please, and thank you, in advance.

As per the mod's description page, it entails the following issues:

This should eliminate, or at the very least, alleviate, the following problems:
sims head bobbing, sims doing nothing for a few hours, time slowing down on Speed 3, and time going back to the past.
  • Sad when customers have to start fixing issues that the company should have fixed. SMH
  • For me this has been rampant since Seasons. I mostly experience it with teleporting sims and speed 3 rewinding.

@brenleedee Off topic, are you the brenleedee that shares lots of houses to the gallery? If so, I adore your houses and wanted to let you know I think they are great! :)

On topic, I am glad that someone has picked up the reigns on this mod and hope it helps players who need it. I've never heard the modder Xerox, but hopefully they keep it maintained for until EA fixes the problem. (More likely EA never will).

I’m really lucky that mine isn’t severe. Occasional teleporting, some action delays, and some time rewind. It was a lot worse on my underpowered laptop though. This was really nice of you to post though. It will be a big help to many players. I for one am glad to know it exists if I start to have a more severe problem with it.

Here’s hoping it’s fixed in general soon. I know they are working on it and have posted on Twitter about it. I have a feeling though this won’t be officially fixed for a while.
