Well that pretty much confirms that there will be a loading screen between apartments than. I kind of expected that, and it's preferable to being only able to have 12 or so sims on a lot.
In the trailer they showed an area go dark when focusing on a different apartment, so I'm guessing that the other sim's rooms will do this when not being played.
I hope we can get confirmation on this soon.
