Forbidden Fruit Tree splicing anyone..?

I've almost tested every plant in the game... nothing so far. I'm including all space plants, and vampire plants as well. I'll have a final verdict soon.

I have a mod that lets me grow plants immediately. These are the plants I have left to test, and an orchard of Forbidden Fruit from which to take cuttings.

Okay, I went through every plant in game: fruits, veggies, flowers, herbalism, vampire... anything that could be grafted... I was even attempting to feed a cowplant and sixam mosquito plant lol. My poor pregnant sim was at it all day and night until morning. Unfortunately, there are no new spliced surprises using the forbidden fruit :(

@SageRainWillow Oh =( Thanks for looking into this for me. But that is so depressing... Letting us 'splice' the Forbidden Fruit Tree is such a tease if we can't get anything out of splicing it with anything...
I really have to wonder why they even made it possible to 'splice' it given the results...

I use splicing for apartment gardens. I have them uploaded to the gallery. That way, my apartment dwellers can have everything in a small space. Vampire hungry in the middle of the day and can't go outside in the sun? I have plasma fruit spliced to tomatoes. Want a plantsim, but don't have the room for a huge tree? Splice the forbidden fruit to another bush. You can still make 5-star Chef-worthy meals at home in a tiny apartment if all your produce is spliced. So, it's not a total loss.

Exactly. If you splice the tree onto a bush you can save the spliced bush to your Library in a tiny 1x1 room. Just put the plant in a pot first, and draw some walls around it. Then click the room to highlight it and make sure to "Save Room" ...not the whole house.

Then if you have someone living in an apartment, you can enter Build mode, access your Library, and place the 1x1 tiny room into the apartment. Just delete the walls and repaint your floor. You now have the fruit of a tree in your apartment.

The other benefit is that some plants take FOREVER to grow and bear fruit. Plasma Fruit trees and Intergalactic UFO fruit are the worst. They take upwards of one sim week to reach maturity and even longer to produce fruit. But, if you take a tomato or potato plant, which are extremely fast growing, you can splice slower fruiting plants to them. Instead of waiting several sim days to harvest, the spliced tomato plant will produce both fruit everyday.

I never bothered splicing but this info is very useful to those with space issues. I also did some work on Forbidden Fruit and made some good discoveries. I figure I'll share them with you guys since this fruit is being talked about.

Can you Research that tree? If so, it will update your Gardening notebook with any splicing possibilities
