Part II continued.
“Mom, I forgot Sly at that place that I went to yesterday. Can you go get him?”
“I can't, I have to go to work in an hour, and you’re going to school, so don’t even think about it”
“Who's Sly?” Warner asked as he finished his breakfast
Colette felt bad for having punished Reese for a week so she offered to help later, “We can go look for him together, but after school”
Reese felt better knowing they would go back for Sly later. This time hearing the school bus arrive outside, Colette watched to make sure he got on the bus this time.
Reese was focused on returning for Sly it was all he thought about. Unfortunately when he returned with his mother, they couldn’t find him.
“I’m sorry honey, someone must’ve come here and taken him.”
Reese frowned, “I know it’s not what you wanted but think of the fun memories you had together. Remember he wasn’t what you wanted in the first place? Then suddenly you really loved playing with him. You still have those”
Reese wasn’t sure how the memories would make it any better but he appreciated his mom's help.
Next week had come and Reese had managed to move on from Sly but he still missed his friend. Colette was sure visiting Chestnut Ridge would be a perfect distraction for him. Their aunts were celebrating Bailey’s birthday and they were all invited. Bailey immediately ran up to hug Reese,
“Aww hi Bailey! Thanks for inviting me to your birthday party tomorrow” Her hug felt special
“Mama, come my friends" Bailey told Alexis as she was lifted in the air
Reese realized how his cousin doesn’t have other kids around to play with, and Cris was still too young to fully play with her. It gave him an idea.
Walking over to Cristobal, he noticed him upset, “What’s wrong Cris? Don’t be sad”
Colette watched as Reese comforted his cousin
He gave him a kiss on the forehead.
Colette picked up Cristobal and got him a change of clothes from his mother. Changing him into more suitable clothing he was much more content. She returned to her boys.
“Mom! Can you help me get a present for Bailey?” Reese tried asking discreetly
“Oh, what are you thinking of getting her? You’re not going to say that raccoon video game you wanted and just keep it for yourself, right?”
“No, can you buy a stuffed animal or friend for her? That way she can have a friend, like how I had with Sly”
Colette thought on it for a second, “…That’s not a bad idea Reese”
Reese began to understand what his mother told him about the memories he had with Sly. Although he was gone, he knew they would be forever friends. He wishes Bailey could have a forever friend like he had

Reese looked so sad when Sly wasn’t where he left him in Sylvan Glade 😢It was very lovely and sweet the way he and Bailey met each other and had a hug when he came to celebrate her birthday, and also his comforting kiss to Cris ❤️He is very caring and thoughtful as he wants Bailey to also have a special stuffie friend or an imaginary friend just like he did, and make new special memories 💗It is sweet that he now understands that he will always have his memories to keep Sly as his friend. The photos that you have posted of the family are lovely.
