- That’s not a yes or no question...but I play with free will on. If I’m a little preoccupied with one sim I want the others to do their own thing.
- GalacticGal8 years agoLegendThe only time I ever played with it off was when I was first learning how to play Sims2. Once I figured it out, I slammed that puppy all the way ON. It's much more fun to see the silly things your Sims will do that way. Otherwise, they end up standing facing a wall, even though they need to pee and the toilet is right there! :open_mouth: Besides, I like to play large households and this makes it manageable.
- bshag4lv8 years agoSeasoned AceDefinitely yes, I have never played with the free will off...I love how the sims react themselves to different situations. I like to see the decisions they make, noted, all decisions are not based on logic. :D
Also, pause is my best friend. <3 - irishluck1122118 years agoNot applicableYes I realize that now. I was half asleep when I made it lol

I play with full autonomy "on" but with autonomy checked off for selected sim. So is that a yes or no? I don't consider it a sometimes really.
This allows it so the other sims in the household stay busy doing what they want/need to do but I control the played one. The played sim doesn't decide to fight what you want them to do, they don't drop your commands as easy, they still respond to other sims that engage them.
I didn't start playing this way until about 2 years in and it's been a game changer for me. If you feel you're more busy and frustrated canceling out your sims actions I encourage you to give it a try.
Hmmmm...I think I will give this a shot. It sounds like a perfect compromise as I do get irritated with my played sim walking away and the like as I am queuing up actions.
Tell me if you like using it. I was really surprised at how it changed things. I didn't even know it was an option for a few years of playing (opps) or just ignored that check mark thing. - loubyloulou8 years agoSeasoned Ace

I did NOT know you could do that! And I've only been playing the game for four years... Is that in Gameplay options? I don't recall ever seeing a check box. - irishluck1122118 years agoNot applicableits under game play option

I didn't know till two years in... I hate to sound like a broken record but for those of you that have trouble fighting your sims wants as you play.. you really, really should give it a go. When you switch to another family member that's the one you control.. the rest do their autonomy thing. - ck2138 years agoLegendYes, meaning Free Will on.
But I think I should experiment with it off because all there moving around, constantly trying different things, and interrupting what I am trying to do can get annoying. The selected sim is off, but that doesn't stop other sims from stopping what I assigned them to do.
