So my client asked for a portrait of someone. My sims did it and turned it in. They didn't like it so she edited it and they liked it. So then it was gone out of my inventory. Figuring I completed it I didn't do another one. Well Thursday came when it was due and it said I failed. Do I have to make another one and send it in that day? Hope this make sense.

Once you edit and resubmit to your client, it is supposed to disappear from your inventory. What did it say under tasks? Once you complete all the tasks, they disappear and you get paid. So if Thursday came and it said you failed, you must’ve forgotten to do a step.

I know for Painter and sometimes Programmer, they will ask you to do the same thing multiple times so you have to see what the number is beside the item. You may have to make 3 paintings for example, so you’d have to do everything 3 times in order to be successful.

Thank you! I did not know sometimes they ask for more then 1! That must be it because I did the painting and submitted it and they said they didn't like it. So I did the edit then they liked it and it went out of my inventory but it still said I needed to do the painting. So I thought maybe it wont disappear until that day. Thank you!
  • I can’t even submit anything. My sim creates what their tasked with, but when it comes time to turn it in for review, there’s no option to.

I had this problem before. Actually several times. So the first time I had other paintings in my sims' inventory and even after removing them I couldn't send the new one to the client. So I had to sell it and start from scratch. The second time I just really liked the painting and wanted to make a copy of it before I sent the OG to the client and then I couldn't send the OG being careful to make sure my sim didn't put it in their inventory.

Also, I know it took me a few hours to figure these thing out:
1)Make sure you are creating the painting on the Digitalistic Sketchpad by clicking it and then selecting the "Freelancer..." option and then "Make____" You can NOT use the Easel. Trust me, I wasted a good two hours on this.
2)Make sure you studied any reference images before hand/talked to the client because sometimes they won't even allow submission without these things. Not all the time though, just sometimes.
3)No other paintings in inventory when you make the painting.
4)You can submit the painting from the inventory or when it is on a wall by clicking on it and "Send to Client for Approval" there's no option on the phone or computer. Yes, I did search for this option these ways for a good ten minutes. Thought I was going crazy.
    5) Make sure your sim didn't paint the painting with no painting skill. It cannot be their first painting because their first painting is of apparently such poor quality that it will be unconsidered. I notice even some of my low skill paintings won't be approved some times.

If you are doing all these things then try this:
    Ctrl+Shift+C
    "Testingcheats true"
    Shift+Click sim
    Click "Career Gigs Picker (Debug)"
It will then bring up a list of the jobs. Pick the one your sim is currently on and it will reset all your goals to uncompleted and make your sim start over again. Yes, sad, I know, but easily remedied. And at least your sim has a higher painting skill that stays with them.

If that did not work, there is a cheat that requires you to get Sim ID but I can't quite remember that one and it works for pretty much any career that has goals like that such as the scientist carer, stylist, or politician. But hopefully the above option works. I've had to use it a few times. And no matter what, the "Meet with Client" option neverrrrrr works so don't pick gigs for murals. That is a known bug though, so don't despair. And I know a modder on Modthesims has created a mod to fix it temporarily until EA can.
