One fun thing i like to do in Parenthood is make the grandma snoop around her granddaughter's journal while in the granddaughter's room.

I like doing the character values but it's annoying when you have multiple kids/teens in one household and are trying to get different values for them because I tend to forget which kid is going for a specific positive trait and which for negative.
