Though I'll ask what is your sim's age? From my knowledge, only young adults, adults, and elders should get self-discovery moments. And how was he labeled? Did the trait just appear or did you get a pop-up asking you if you want that trait to be equipped?
Got a pop-up in my game that I could accept or not. Some I accepted, others I declined.
ETA: The Sim in question is still a Child.
Now that is odd... It might also be that I might have misunderstood the tuning files, but even looking into Internet I see it only happening to grown-up sims...
Any mods by chance that might affect that?
