Though I'll ask what is your sim's age? From my knowledge, only young adults, adults, and elders should get self-discovery moments. And how was he labeled? Did the trait just appear or did you get a pop-up asking you if you want that trait to be equipped?
Got a pop-up in my game that I could accept or not. Some I accepted, others I declined.
ETA: The Sim in question is still a Child.
Now that is odd... It might also be that I might have misunderstood the tuning files, but even looking into Internet I see it only happening to grown-up sims...

None that would affect that. I do have MCCC, but I don't set much. It's highly underused in my game, unless, Deaderpool has created another preset to do what happened in my game. It should be stated that Genius is in the family already, and he may have inherited this Trait.
