Game crashing in build mode: PC

Every time I'm in build mode the game crashes. I have tried everything from updating graphics drivers, clearing cache, removing mods, and even completely reinstalling the game (losing 8 years of game progress). I double checked and all my computer specs are well above the game requirements. It doesn't happen immediately when I go into build mode, sometimes I'll be able to build for up to 30 minutes then it'll crash. What else can I do?
